A Thousand-Year Solo - English Lyrics

(AKA Solo for a Millenium) Original translation by Hokorichan, edited by mois, I hope you enjoy.
I WORKED VERY HARD ON THESE, PLEASE DO NOT USE THESE LYRICS WITHOUT CREDITING ME! THANK YOU!

KAITO: Standing alone, on a gray, withering hill, the dry stalks of grass crunch beneath my feet.
I let my thoughts wander, fluttering far to the sky’s heart.
The soft breeze sends the flowers wavering, bringing to mind your gentle smile from days long past.
The memories are fading fast from my mind, like a picture from a thousand years ago.

Let us play our special song; no one else may learn it.
Even if this body were to rust and stop,
I will continue to sing to the collapsing gravestone,
This song that you have left behind.

Although this entire body is no more than a mere artifice of human life,
At least this heart you made for me will dedicate itself to remembering you in song.

Wandering alone towards the setting sun, clinging to this discolored guitar  you gifted me.
Silhouettes dance in the resounding echoes of the dusk.
These fingertips, worn down by years of playing, glow bright in this lonely evening’s dying sun.
The melody I hummed solo rides the wind to the heart of the darkening sky.

The quiet creaking of these silver metal gears;
Their rhythmic clicking beats dully reverberate.
The sky that reflects back from within these glass eyes of mine…
Just how false is it, really?

Underneath this glowing moon, though I can no longer meet with you again, my Love,
Into this sparkling, moonlit sky, I will still dedicate your memory with my songs.

Even the hill of violets where we met so long ago…
Over these thousand nights, only gray remains are left behind.

Although this entire body is no more than a mere artifice of human life,
At least this heart you made for me will dedicate itself to remembering you in song.

Underneath this glowing moon, though I can no longer meet with you again, my Love,
Into this sparkling, moonlit sky, I will still dedicate your memory with my songs.
